Donations with a Purpose
You may want to dedicate your donation to a specific purpose such as:
Have a special occasion to celebrate? Want to honor a loved one? Make a tribute gift and OSFB will send a special “Thank You” card.
There’s no better way to honor someone than with a tribute gift to your Food Bank. Whether it’s a tribute or celebratory donation, your gift will ensure that other families and loved ones can get the healthy food they need to thrive.
Take this opportunity to give a gift that touches the heart, while helping to improve the lives of those facing hunger in our community. If you have any questions about donating to us, please email us (and we will get back to you) at email@example.com.
A legacy/memorial donation is an incredibly special donation, and we take it very seriously. The honoring of a loved one’s wishes, and memory is a particularly important action.
Making a Legacy Gift is a wonderful way to celebrate the special people in your life, while helping to provide food in the future for those in need.
A Memorial Gift is the perfect way to honor a loved one who has passed on. Their memory can live on through this gift as you help the hungry and provide food for those in need.
For these donations, we want to get to know the person that is being honored or remembered. For that reason, we ask that you reach out to us so we can talk about the best way to honor your request at firstname.lastname@example.org
Estate Planning Gifts
Leave a Legacy of Helping Alleviate Hunger
OSFB encourages you to make a gift to the Food Bank through your will, life insurance policy or other resources. It’s our effort to inspire you to think about how you might continue to help our hungry neighbors far into the future.
Your bequest to support our mission needs to be considered thoughtfully. If you have any questions about donating to us please email us (and we will get back to you) at email@example.com
Many good gift planning techniques are available, and you can choose the type of gift which best suits your needs. They take many forms and may include personal bequests, IRA contributions and retirement plans, stocks and other securities, real estate, and life insurance. In choosing to make a special gift like this to the Ocean Shores Food Bank, we suggest you get advice from your financial/tax adviser or attorney.
A provision in your will (a bequest) is often the most realistic way for many donors to make a significant contribution to OSFB. In addition to cash, you may also leave stocks, bonds, and other types of property.
Tax Benefit of Donating Stocks/Bonds:
Donating stocks and mutual funds can bring you tax benefits while helping fill our food insecure neighbors. You can designate OSFB as the beneficiary of your stocks, bonds, mutual funds, IRA, and more. This type of gift can be especially appealing if you are holding shares that have appreciated significantly in value but yield a low dividend.
With a gift of securities, you pay no capital gains taxes and may be able to deduct the full fair market value of appreciated stocks or mutual funds held longer than one year.
Talk to your financial/tax adviser to learn more about this great way to fight hunger.
Plan To Give:
You can name OSFB as a beneficiary on life insurance, retirement plans, and savings accounts. This is the simplest way to make a legacy gift to OSFB. When you complete your beneficiary designation form, just name OSFB as a full or partial beneficiary and provide our tax identification number. You don’t even need an attorney to make this kind of gift.

Donation to Pet Food
Help Our Four-Legged Family Members
OSFB guests appreciate that pet food is also available during their shopping experience. They don’t have to choose between feeding their pet and putting food on the table.
Per the OSFB Articles of Incorporation, only human food may be purchased with (general) donated funds. However, if you wish to donate funds for pet food, please note that request on your donation form. OSFB will honor those requests as designated funds for pet food.
With your donation OSFB will work with local retail stores, pet charity functions and pet food manufacturers to obtain pet food for distribution. We understand that times can be tough, and our goal is to keep as many pets as possible with their families by providing donated pet food. If you have any questions about donating to us, please email us and we will get back to you at firstname.lastname@example.org
Donation to Books/Learning
Help Start a Child on A Life of Reading
OSFB distribution of books is designed to help enrich reading for ages children to seniors. Children of guests, as are all guests, visiting the food bank for hunger relief, may select age-appropriate book(s) to take home at no cost.
Food Bank Literacy Program:
The Food Bank’s Literacy Program accepts books [used or new] and financial donations in its effort to improve literacy in our community. Books are offered freely to clients of all ages but with an emphasis on the children. Our experiences with clients prove the premise that our families have a hunger for books – specially for their young children.
Children need food to grow up healthy and books to support literacy health. Per the OSFB Articles of Incorporation, only human food may be purchased with (general) donated funds. However, if you wish to donate funds for books, please note that request on your donation form. OSFB will honor those requests as designated funds for books.
Developing a love for reading and literacy, especially at an early age, can encourage success throughout their education, career, and life. If you have any questions about donating to us, please email us at email@example.com
